Bethesda’s Pool is Salt & Light’s ministry of wholeness. We believe God has called us to assist people in the process of coming to wholeness in every way. Whether it’s recovery from substance use disorders, grief after the loss of a loved one, couples therapy, or individual mental health challenges like depression or anxiety, Bethesda’s Pool is a welcoming place for people who are hurting. Salt & Light offers these ministry services on a needs based sliding scale providing subsidies, as needed.
Individual, Couples, and Family Therapy
While many value the need for and would love to engage in therapy for mental health challenges or relationship distress, unfortunately therapy is a luxury item that is financially inaccessible. We want to bridge the gap between hurting people and the prohibitive cost of therapy. At Salt & Light, we have trained and licensed mental health practitioners at the Masters and Doctoral levels. All our therapists are committed to providing quality therapy at a reduced cost and work to facilitate access to mental health resources.
Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12-step group recovery program for anyone struggling with hurts, hang-ups, and habits of any kind. It is a biblically balanced approach to help bring sustainable recovery and healing to our hurts. It guides us toward new healthy truths and life-giving habits as we repair our broken relationships. Celebrate Recovery is a safe place to find community and freedom from the issues that are controlling our life.

Walking the Mourner’s Path
We believe that grieving is not a lack of faith but a natural part of living.Walking the Mourner’s Path is part of the Grief Ministry of Bethesda’s Pool at Salt & Light. It is a Christ centered grief support program that consists of 90 minute classes that run for eight consecutive weeks. Each participant receives a workbook that contains lessons which provide a framework for each class.
Rather than withdrawing in our grief, Walking the Mourner’s Path provides a place to bring the pain of grief. It is a place to be comforted, a place to join hands and hearts with the other participants to do together what we can not do alone.
Spiritual Direction
Would you like to deepen your relationship with God, and become more aware of God’s presence in your life? Are you interested in enriching your prayer life? Do you need a space to quiet your soul in the midst of a hectic and stressful world? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, we encourage you to consider Spiritual Direction, a ministry of Bethesda’s Pool at Salt & Light.
We offer Individual and Group Spiritual Direction. Sessions usually take place once a month for an hour or about two hours in the group setting. The spiritual director/companion listens to whatever you choose to share that day and helps you notice the movements of God. Our whole life is our “spiritual” life and God is in every part of it. So you bring yourself – just as you are with whatever is happening in your life – and together we ask, “Where is God in all of this?”
