Adult Ushers
The Ushers often serve as the first impression for the church and all worship Services. It is essential that to do this well we display a welcoming spirit. We are the doorkeepers, ever-ready to assist our guests and members with kindness, love, and direction.

Baptism Team
Upon request for Baptism, the Baptism Team contacts and schedules candidates for baptism, instructs candidates on the process, and addresses any concerns that arise. On the day of Baptism, we present the candidates to the Deacons and Pastoral Staff for prayer. After Baptisms, we direct new Believers to further their new lives in Christ by joining in the congregation.

Bethesda’s Pool
Bethesda Pool is an emotional health and mental wholeness ministry with the mission to build resilience and provide spiritual support for a diverse community of individuals of all ages and families. Bethesda’s Pool delivers spiritually integrated services through our pastoral and ministerial staff and counseling and therapy services. The Salt & Light Clothing Ministry strives to help and improve the lives of the most vulnerable members in our community by providing support and ample services like clothing, hats, coats, gloves, and any other resources to help maintain their homes and families.

Evangelism Team
The Evangelism Team seeks to actively fulfill the command of Jesus Christ according to Matthew 28:19, “go and make disciples of all nations.”

“The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’” – Matthew 25:40

We serve the Southwest Philadelphia community by meeting whatever need is presented to us. Weekly, we provide food and toiletry items for anyone who has a need. This ministry was created to help ease the community’s burden of being able to obtain basic items to sustain themselves and their families daily.

Greeters are the first friendly faces that friends and guests see when they enter Salt & Light for worship and special events. Greeters have the gift of hospitality, making folks feel welcome and happy to answer any questions they may have.

Liturgical Dance Ministry
The Liturgical Dance Ministry’s primary function and goal is to spiritually and creatively minister to people through the art of dance and movement.


The Sons of Thunder Men’s Ministry comes together monthly for fellowship and Bible Study over breakfast to provide a space for men to share their lives and concerns while growing into the fullness of all God has called us to be as men of God.

New Members Intake Team
The New Member’s Intake Team helps the Chruch Office manage and maintain the internal database of members, volunteers, and visitors. We also schedule and coordinate New Member’s Classes and Baptisms while providing welcome and connection into the congregation. In addition to this, we provide congregational care that includes letters, cards, call, and visions of welcome, celebration, and bereavement.

Praise & Worship Team
The Praise and Worship Team leads the congregation in song during weekly services and gatherings. Our purpose is to set the atmosphere of worship–to prepare the hearts and minds of the congregation to hear God’s Word.

The primary goal of Saved by Grace is to help individuals from all backgrounds get and stay on the road to recovery and ultimately, become productive and empowered citizens. We offer a holistic approach in teaching, developing, and mentoring people in the areas of mental, physical, and financial principles by which to live their new lives of freedom. Our mission is to be an oasis in the desert and a haven for persons who have decided to seek help for substance abuse. Our only requirement for admission is a desire to get better.

Saturday Enrichment Program (SEP)
The Saturday Enrichment Program takes pride in developing the whole child for all K-12 scholars. We provide academic support and enrichment; social and emotional and life skill lessons; and bible lessons to help them develop a personal relationship with Jesus.

Security & Parking 

“But the four principal gatekeepers, who were Levites, were entrusted with the responsibility for the rooms and treasuries in the house of God. They would spend the night stationed around the house of God, because they had to guard it; and they had charge of the key for opening it each morning.”1 Chronicles 9:26-27


Salt and Light’s Security & Parking Team that is responsible for the safety and well-being of all who worship and fellowship together.

United Voices of Salt & Light Choir
The United Voices of Salt & Light Choir is a unit of Praisers. We uplift and inspire the congregation to engage with us to sing beautiful music together to glorify God as one Body. Our role is to usher in, empower, and strengthen the Holy Spirit through songs.

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is a summer program, focused on teaching all ages in fun, engaging, and exciting ways the Love of Christ and offering ways to integrate Scripture and life.

Van Team
The Van Team facilitates the opportunity for individuals with limited access to transportation to worship Christ in physical unity.

Women’s Ministry
The Ruth & Esther Sisterhood of Salt & Light is a community of women devoted to Christ and engaging women in their various stages of Christian faith through study, service, and friendship. Our commitment is to grow in fellowship, faith, and wholeness of mind, body, and spirit. We desire to encourage, empower, edify, and equip women to be their best selves, and in service to Christ, the church, and the community with compassion, care, and love.

Youth & Young Adult Ministry
The Youth & Young Adults Ministry has the goal of walking alongside youth (ages 5-18 years old) and young adults (ages 19-39 years old) as they grow in their relationship with God and self. These ministries meet regularly to empower spiritual maturity through Bible study, fellowship, and service. Opportunities for youth to grow include the Saturday Enrichment Program, Vacation Bible School, serving as Youth Ushers, Junior Deacons, and Junior Stewards.

Youth Mass Choir
The Youth Mass Choir is comprised of gifted young people (ages 5 through 17 years old) who enthusiastically and skillfully deliver Gospel Music performances with the mindset to uplift others through the ministry of song.

Youth Ushers
Youth Ushers serve as the gatekeepers to convey the first phase of ushering in the Holy Spirit by cheerfully greeting those assembling for Worship. The Youth Usher ministry offers young people a chance to serve and to learn the duties of the Senior Ushers.
